Lower Opt In Rate But More Sales?

Recently, I blog about How I Got 50 Subscribers In Less Than 24 Hours. That was the result from my first solo ad.

Today, I am going to share with you the result from my second solo ad.

I bought my second solo ad from Jeanette Bailey at http://www.easybusinesstapping.com/soloads/.

I paid $50 for 100 unique clicks. You can see my result in the screenshot below.

(Note: The tracking is not 100% accurate. Jeanette did over deliver by sending me around 120 clicks instead of 94)

Initially, I was a little bit disappointed. This is because I only got an opt in rate of 25.5%, which is a far cry compared to the 59.2% opt in rate from my first solo ad.

However, I did manage to get a sale after the subsequent follow up as you can see in the screenshot below:

So what is the lesson learned here?  Well, lower opt in rate is not necessary a bad thing!

 

What Resulted In The Increase In Sale?

As a marketer, it is important to ask yourself questions all the time so that you can learn from your success and failure.  

So here are the questions I am asking myself.

Why are there no sales from my first solo ad despite having a higher opt in rate with more subscribers?
 
What did I do differently to generate a sale from my second solo ad, despite having a lower opt in rate?

I believe there are two main reasons:

1. I started sharing what I know on my blog.

2. I tweak my email campaign.

 

Difference Between 1st Solo Ad and 2nd Solo Ad

When I bought my first solo ad, I did have a blog but there was no content yet.
By the time I bought my second solo ad, my blog already has a few posts. Basically, I was just sharing what I know as well as my results so far.

So I started doing things a bit differently. Since I have already started blogging, I started tweaking my email campaign and sending my subscribers to my blog. Most probably, you are reading this now because you click on the link in my email 🙂

When you start sharing useful information on your blog, people will start to trust you more. Therefore, you will start to make more sales as long as you are promoting quality products that can really help your subscribers.
